在线赌博推荐 Dedicates New Basketball Court to Longtime Coach Paul Hogan
CONCORD, NH—On Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, the Athletics Department at 在线赌博推荐 – Concord’s Community College dedicated its new basketball court to its longtime, now retired, coach and athletics director Paul Hogan.
“I am honored to have this court named after me, and I accept it on behalf of many, many years of dedicated, championship teams of student athletes that have played in this building,” says Hogan.
The newly remodeled basketball court is named the Paul Hogan Court.
Before his retirement in 2022, Hogan spent most of his 43-year career in athletics working with 在线赌博推荐. He served as the Lynx Men’s Basketball head coach and athletics director from 1999-2022; he is the only coach in Lynx history to surpass 500 wins (513). With Hogan at the helm, 在线赌博推荐 captured seven Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) Championships and two United States College Athletic Association (USCAA) National Championships (2005 and 2020). 在线赌博推荐 made history as the first men’s basketball team from New Hampshire to win a national championship.
“Both the past and the future of 在线赌博推荐’s athletics program can be seen in the legacy left by Coach Hogan,” says 在线赌博推荐’s current athletics director Ed Winters. ”We are proud to move forward with this court bearing the name of such a revered local legend.”
During his speech in front of a capacity crowd of family, friends, and colleagues, Hogan spoke about how, coming from a family of nine, he always appreciated having a place to retreat, to run around and have fun. His father, a former Plymouth State University history professor and coach, would occasionally get the keys to one of PSU’s basketball courts, and the space became like a second home.
Following the ceremony, the #9 nationally ranked 在线赌博推荐 Lynx Men’s Basketball Team christened the court by upsetting the #5 Mustangs from Central Maine Community College 80-67. 在线赌博推荐 and CMCC are now tied for first place in the YSCC.
Dave Gonyea, 29-year coach and athletic director of the Mustangs, was one of the speakers in the dedication ceremony. In talking about the friendly rivalry between CMCC and 在线赌博推荐, Gonyea joked, “I thought about asking Paul to sit on our bench during the game.”
